Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

Just caught the Saskatoon show last night, and although Cube, Dub, Toones, and the crew moved the crowd, the venue was wack. The sound system was so overmodulated that you could only understand about 1/2 of what they were saying (which meant that during the hours leading up to his set, you couldn't enjoy - or identify - what the DJ's were spinning up), and the club was so poorly run that in our VIP section (which we paid good money for), we missed out on parts of the show because we had to keep fighting to get di*kheads out of our section, and people kept climbing up on the speakers and blockin' us out. Then we'd fight with them.

I'd been looking forward to this for months, especially since it got pushed back once, and was excited at the possibility of actually meeting the legends and getting something signed - like my original "AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted" and "Ain't A Damn Thang Changed" tapes - but we were so fed up by the end that we just gave up and bounced (kinda regretted that this morning).

Don't get me wrong.

Cube was still on-point, and Dub and the rest worked the crowd as always.

Just wasn't what it shoulda been. Doesn't feel like we just went to a Cube show.

Although Daz has revealed few details about the project, he did confirm that the 10-song album D.A.Z. will be a return to the classic West coast sound. He also added that the LP will be accompanied by a bonus DVD.

"This whole album is going to be all West coast beats...voice control, no yelling, smooth shit," he said. "[The album is] for the real fans out there. Not you mother fucking haters out there talking shit on the blogs, suck a cock you bastards." (

Earlier this year, Daz linked up with fellow Dogg Pound emcee Kurupt for their seventh group LP 100 Wayz on DPG Records/Priority. They also announced that they will release another DPG album in 2011 titled Westcoast Aftershocc.
