The inaugural Greenbrier Classic golf tournament is a brand new stop on the PGA Tour's FedExCup schedule of golf tournament events beginning here in 2012. The Greenbrier Classic is replacing the Buick Open which held it's 51st and final event in 2009.

The golf tournament is being held at the Greenbrier Resort marking the return of professional tournament golf to a storied and 'refurbished' american golf resort. Jim Justice bought the resort out of bankruptcy in May of 2009 to the tune of 20.1 Million Dollars. The Golf inaugural Greenbrier Classic will have a purse of 6 Million Dollars and will be played July 29th to August 1, 2010.

The tournament will be played on the Greenbrier Resort's Old White golf course originally designed by C.B. MacDonald at the turn of the century.

Weekly badges for the 2012 Classic include 7 days of incredible golf and three phenomenal concerts. This year's concert line-up is going to be the hottest ticket in July with Toby Keith and special guest Lionel Richie on the 4th of July, Rod Stewart with special guest The Fray on Friday July 6th, and Bon Jovi on Saturday July 7th.
