French Connection's William Friedkin Will Direct Nic Cage's Vigilante Movie

As you can see, the plot is definitely a bit B-movie, but Cage has historically thrived when he’s allowed to play a rabid dog mowing down his foes. In theory, that should make for a gory and snappy film, and considering Friedkin is the crazy bastard who made The Exorcist, there are plenty of reasons to be confident.

Look, I get it: by the time you reach the fifth movie in a franchise you’re mainly appealing to the core fan base, but that’s no excuse for wholly disregarding every other audience member on the planet. If you’re looking to get into the Resident Evil franchise I would most definitely not recommend this as a starting point, but based on the quality of this sequel I highly doubt it would be worth it at all.

But I also wouldn’t call the love that’s portrayed in Looper love at first sight. He certainly is infatuated with his future wife the first time that he sees her. But I think that the love really comes as their relationship develops so that they can see how they are both really good for each other, and she can see how she’s a positive influence on his life over the years. I think that’s a big part of what you would call love. That’s almost every loving relationship, though, don’t you think? It almost always starts with an infatuation and grows into a relationship over time.
