With Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, and CeeLo Green on board, Sparkle definitely features the acting prowess to have made a critical impression, but before the film's release, I worried it would be all glitter and no substance. There are a lot of dark themes in the story, but the film offers plenty of comforting moments, as well.

The flick is probably best known for being Houston’s last big screen appearance before her untimely death, and it’s good to see the singer’s portrayal of Emma was a role worth leaving behind. Watch The Paperboy Online. Because Sparkle has such a close connection to Houston, a lot of the extras in the set are meant to be tributes or discussions about the powerhouse performer. Notably, one of the bonus features is a music video for “Celebrate,” the final song Houston recorded with Sparks before her death.
