The Perfect Gravity for TaylorMade RocketBallz Fairway Wood

The TaylorMade RocketBallz Fairway Wood dramatically increases your distance. Better players increase their distance by 17 yards. How does this happen? A "Speed Pocket" boosts ball speed by lowering the weight of the club and together with the Thick-Thin Crown Design a lower center of gravity is created, which promotes a higher launch with more distance. The low and forward center of gravity is accomplished by moving the weight of the club forward rather than placing it in the back like a traditional fairway. The result is a club which has lower spin, more power at impact and greater distance.

The Rockballz maintains the white crown, black PVD face of the previous Burner Superfast 2.0 and R11 fairway woods. The white crown helps eliminate glare and "hot spots", whilst the contrast with the black face makes the cheap Rocketballz fairway wood easier to align at address. The clubhead is shaped more traditionally than the previous Burner Superfast 2.0 design, but still provides ample forgiveness.

RocketBallz was the name of the new line and the TaylorMade executives were proud of their new baby. They even took us outside and rolled out a carpet that was 17 yards long. The script on the carpet read, "This is how long you're going to hit you new golf clubs". They reported that 17 yards is what their lawyers told them they could legally claim. They hinted at players seeing gains of 20 yards and more. It was a big claim and truthfully I thought they had no chance of living up to it. In golf, a five yard gain is huge and I thought we had reached the limits to what we could do for making a club "hotter."
