It's an unbelievable story and you might not believe me but listening to Ice Cube got me through high school.

As one of the few Asian girls (I was adopted from Vietnam) at my old high school, I was picked by many of the kids there. I was a top student back in my home country but I was treated like I didn't matter here. All I wanted to do was focus on my academics, particularly on my news and custom writing activities and just blend into the wall and not be noticed by anyone.

That was until I first listened to my NWA record.

Ice Cube and NWA talked about not taking any crap from anyone and putting yourself out there to prove your worth to the world. I took their message and I'm glad to say they were my savior back when I thought that all hope was lost.
