I listened to some Bomb Squad work on Hank Shocklee's website the other day. They sadly just seemed to disappear. How would you say the sampling laws have affected you (if at all) as a rapper and the production of hip hop records?
Listened to Death Certificate on the way to work this morning. Records like that aren't made anymore. You could go right down the tracklist and you just dont hear the topics discussed recorded anymore. Hip hop went away somewhere along the line from things people could relate to....to being focused on material things people dream of.
Thank you for speaking on age-ism in Hip Hop. When it comes to Hip Hop the majority of NEWER isn't better. Pete Rock and DJ Premier didn't forget how to produce. Big Daddy Kane and the rappers of that era didn't forget how to spit. The young mc's need to remember who paved the way for them to make the money they are making.
