What up fam?
Alots been going on since my last blog. Shit been movin' so fast I didn't have the time to write a decent blog until now. I did Jimmy Kimmel. Flew on a red-eye to New York for the Tribeca Film Festival. Then back to L.A. to hit Power 106 with Big Boy. Later that night went back in the studio with Dre. Hit a Lakers Playoff game. Finished a few edits on my video and now I'm in Osaka, Japan.
Jimmy Kimmel is always good to do. I think me and Jimmy have cool chemisty. But this time it was a little dry, cool but now our best sit down. They wanted me to stay and cook on stage with Paula Dean. When I heard they were cooking fried chicken...I was outta there. Ya right! Me and Kim hit the airport and a red-eye to New York City.
I hate red-eye flights. You think you'll get some sleep but never do. We had to hit the ground running too. Drop your bags, wash up and it's time to do press. All day interviews about my new documentary "Straight Outta L.A." for ESPN's 30 for 30 series. It's about the time when the Oakland Raiders moved to Los Angeles from 1982 to 1994. That team moving to L.A. changed the look of Hip-Hop which changed the look of the world. We premiered the film at Tribeca to good reviews. Me. Myself, I don't care about reviews or previews. Opinions are like assholes, everybody got one...and they all stink! Back to L.A.
I did Big Boy's morning show on the 26th. The same day I dropped my single, "I Rep That West" (avaliable on icecube.com). I remember when Big Boy was the new DJ at Power 106 under the Baker Boys. Now he's nationwide. That's good to see. Big Boy is very funny to me. We chopped it up and talked about everything I got going on and it was all love. But my mind was on the studio session with Dre later on that night.
This time it was just me and Dre. You can see the pic on the home page. After we picked one of Dre's heat rocks, we started writing the song. We got alot more done this time then the last time and the song is bangin'. When I get back from Japan were going to get back in to finish the magic.
I just finished the edits on my new video. It will premiere on Yahoo this Monday. 24 hours after that, you can see it right here on icecube.com It's one of my tightest videos.
Now I'm in Osaka, Japan. We flew about 13 hours in total to get here with a layover in Tokyo. Japan is always dope. I like how good they treat each other here. I couldn't wait to get off the plane to hear what happen with my Lakers matchup vs the Thunder in game 6. With a tip in by Pau Gasol the Lakers win the series 4 - 2. With that, the world seems normal again.
Now it's 10:05 am Sunday morning in Japan. We're on our way to see the Sugar Shane vs. Floyd Mayweather fight. I got Shane, a California boy. I use ta really love Floyd but he ducked the Pac-Man. There's no running in boxing...oh yes it is. Tonight we work rock Osaka.
It won't take a month for my next blog. I promise.
If I mispelled anything, remember I'm a victim of the L.A. Unified School District.
Keep it Gangsta,
Cube

yo Cube as U know there's goin to be a movie 'bout N.W.A. it was a dope group, the best of all hip hop groups and N.W.A. will neva be replaced. There won't be any groups as good as N.W.A. Don't U wanna be in group again? I mean, you're doin ya thang, Dre and Ren too so y'all can make the group again, maybe with WC.. if there will be the real hip hop group, the whole world will see that gangsta rap ain't dead and... that will be great 4 all the people who love N.W.A.

You been a busy man Cube, i can honestly see this album getting album of the year unless Drakes mainstream, bullshit blinds the critics from real talent...Drake isn't hip hop and you know it...Main thing alotta people will be worried about workin with Dre, don't let him delay you, like usual, when anyone works with him their album gets pushed a few months back, hopefully you get that NWA chemistry goin again and you can push him to work faster..heres a deep question...you were sayin that you and Dre never got together all these years caus you both been too busy in your success's..really? I know your both busy, but to the point of saying your too busy to fit each other in the studio is a bit over the top...your only busy if you choose to be busy, so theres no doubt both of you couldve set your priorities to make an NWA album or whatever, the only obstacle i can see is that the other things you doin are makin more money than a possible reunion album..for you with your movies and him with his protoge's, you wernt too busy for them except that they pay well. This aint all an insult in anyway possible, just you two been sayin you too busy for each other since the 90s. What exactly made you get with Dre all of a sudden anyway, why now?

Just finished listening to your song Concrete (Unreleased..WHY?)... just reminds me how much I enjoyed that old skool funk era we had out here on the west. Back when atomic dog was sampled on nearly every track, theres just something right about your flow over them beats.
Any chance we get something like that on I Am The West? U would sound ill over Westcoast Poplock, or boounce rock skate......just a fan's suggestion.
There's so much mellow madness when the lenchmob gets dowwwwn -
